PUNAHOU CARNIVAL
Date: February 6 & 7 Time: 11:30 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Place: Punahou School Campus (Punahou Street & Wilder Avenue), Honolulu
Featuring foods traditional on the Punahou Midway including malassadas, Hawaiian
plate, Portuguese bean soup, chili, nachos and Greek gyros sandwiches. Skills
booths, arts and crafts, White Elephant, fresh produce, haku leis, ceramics,
plants, and auction. The Art Gallery showcases outstanding island artists; E.K.

20TH ANNUAL GREAT ALOHA
RUN
Date: February 16 Hawaii's largest
participatory event raising monies annually for numerous local charities. This
8.15-mile Run/walk starts at Aloha Tower in downtown Honolulu (with

MARCH 2004
9TH ANNUAL HONOLULU FESTIVAL March 14 - March 16, 2004 Hawaii's premier
event promoting cultural understanding, economic cooperation and ethnic
harmony between the people of Hawaii and the Asia-Pacific region. The 2003
Festival kicks off at Honolulu Hale, and will feature a variety of events
at different Oahu venues. The Festival will culminate with a grand parade

Beach, Race map Triathlon fun for everyone is returning to Kailua! The 3rd
Annual Lanikai race will kick off another great year of quality triathlon racing
brought to island athletes by BOCA Hawaii. Race director Raul Boca expanded the
popular MountainMan off-road race series to include this road bike triathlon.
The tri-series tempts the tastes of all types of athletes, as well as challenges
the athlete who comes back every year for the off-road races. The Lanikai
racecourse is a beautiful, fast, safe course--great for first time triathletes!

WHAKATAETAE MAORI SONG & DANCE
COMPETITION
Date: March 27 Place: Polynesian Cultural
Center (Windward Oahu) A celebration of the Maori culture. The excitement starts
with competition in the Whakaeke (Entrance), Moteatea (Chant), Haka, Poi Balls,
and Whakawatea (Exit). The junior division will also have a special Te Korero
(Maori Speech) competition. A unique glimpse into the culture of New Zealand's

WINDWARD ORCHID SOCIETY 24TH ANNUAL SPRING SHOW AND
PLANT SALE Date: March 28 - March 30, 2004 Place: S.W. King
Intermediate School Armory, 46-155 Kamehameha Hwy., Kaneohe (Two blocks
North of Windward Mall). Come and see beautiful orchids in every
imaginable hue. Orchid societies from Oahu vie for prizes awarded by the
American Orchid Society for creative floor and table landscape displays
and for outstanding orchids in various categories. There will be
demonstrations on the care of orchids and a great big plant sale! Friday

Polynesian Cultural Center Fire will light up the night in Laie once again as
the Polynesian Cultural Center holds its annual test of champions in the World
Fireknife Dance Competition. Competitors from around the world come to vie for
the title of world's best. Preliminary and semi-final events will be held in the
Hale Aloha Theater for $8.00. Night show admission applies for the finals.

oldest and largest non-competitive exhibition of hula. Halau hula will grace the
earthen hula mound under the decades old monkeypod trees. Enjoy crafts,
